Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How can we have a look at your property?
A: If you use the Contacts Page and contact us we are happy to make an appointment with you!
Please do understand that because of privacy reasons we don't want
to publish all our details on the internet!
Q: Is a property like yours not a lot of work?
A: This depends on what you like to do. You can just live here and
lease your paddocks to a farmer for grazing. If you don't want to
get involved with anything this usually pays around $1 per head per
day for cows. Prices will vary based on availability and weather.
Next step would be to "make hay while the sun shines". This would require some more work because you will have to arrange a contractor and help and need storage for the hay bales which we have with our hay shed. Last year hay prices went up to close to $30 per bale because of the draught. They currently pay $10 per bale. We got around 200 bales from our biggest paddock.
If you like to have your own animals, then it depends of the type of animal you have. Some sheep require shearing once a year while others shed their wool. We have sheep and milking goats. Dairy animals need to get milked once a day at least which is a decision you'll have to make.
